An evening on the beach can be great for the soul. Walking in the fresh air, then taking time to sit and watch the sunset is something I should do more often. But sadly there always seems to be things to do and other places to be, but when I do take the time, I always go home feeling so much more alive.
Southport, Merseyside is famed for the great skys and the intense sunsets which it experiences. It seems to be blessed with a very special evening light, ideal for photography. The pier is the oldest iron pier in the country and over a kilometer in length, which makes it the second-longest in Great Britain. The title for the longest UK pier, goes to Southend in Essex. However, other bonuses which Southport can boast, is that on a clear day you get views of Snowdon in North Wales and hills of The Lake District.
